Our chapel’s history begins in 1964 when Charles and Lucy Flahiff opened our doors with the intention of providing the highest quality care to families in the Homedale community. Today, we continue to honor their mission by helping families remember and celebrate their lost loved ones and navigate grief.


The Homedale Chapel is Owyhee County’s only funeral home and an important part of our small but vibrant community. We serve all families and you can trust us to respect your wishes and design a service that aligns with your values and preferences.


We recognize and celebrate our region’s diversity with multicultural funerals and Spanish-speaking care. We offer both traditional religious and nondenominational services tailored to each family's requests.

  • Removal and transportation of your loved one to the funeral home (within a 50 mile radius of the funeral home).
  • Care of your loved one until cremation is complete.
  • Cremation process and return of ashes in minimum urn.
  • Consultation with responsible party for final arrangements.
  • All the necessary permits and authorizations.
  • Free self-service online obituary.
  • Many other optional services available - including celebration of life event planning, traditional funeral service, on-site catering, scattering assistance, and more - at additional charge.

I dealt with Lance there and he did a fantastic job for us. He even pushed to get her cremation done so we could have her back before my brother and Nephew left to go home. I dealt with Lance 33 weeks ago when my father passed. They seem to really care and go the extra mile for you

My dad's passing was the first time I had ever had to be involved in planning for a funeral. My dad was on Hospice when I first contacted Flahiffs. They guided me through everything and took care of all the details so I could deal with the loss of my dad on the emotional side. Lance was wonderful to work with and was easy to get a hold of when I had additional questions. We went to the Caldwell location to go through the process and had the service at the Homedale location. I would highly recommend using Flahiffs when you find yourself in a time of need.

A HUGE Thank you to Jonathan! Flahiff Chapels did an incredible job taking care of my dad. Jonathan made the whole experience seem seem less as we were from out of town and on a holiday weekend. This was one of the hardest times I’ve ever gone through but Jonathan made the process so manageable. I would recommend Flahiff to anyone going through the struggles that come with final expenses for a loved one.
