Alvina Marie Callsen, 89, of Caldwell, died Saturday, June 8, 2013 at her home. Rosary Devotions will be recited at 7:00pm Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Caldwell. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the Rosary. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the church and interment will follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell.
Mrs. Callsen was born October 13, 1923 in Nampa, a daughter of George and Clairinda Rivett Martineau. She was reared and educated in Nampa and graduated from Nampa High School. She married Charles L. Callsen on January 6, 1943 and the couple made their home in Caldwell. Alvina worked at the JR Simplot Company and the Caldwell School District. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who lived and loved her faith.
Surviving are her children, daughter Claire Maloney; sons, Robert, Gene and Alma, Mike, Dennis and Jeanette, David and Sylvia, John and Dena and Tom and Carylon; a sister Theresa Knox of Nampa; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1998, an infant daughter, Ann Marie and a son-in-law, William D. Maloney.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church or to the Idaho Food Bank.
