Fern Elizabeth Sells died Tuesday, August 14, 2012, of natural causes in a Middleton care center. Fern was born on September 18, 1918, to Harry A. and Anna [Martindale] Castle in Howell County, Missouri, the seventh of eleven children. She graduated from Willow Springs High School, and then married James Arthur Sells in 1937. To this union, four children were born. In 1959, the family moved to Idaho where Fern was a member of the Christian Church. She taught Sunday school, and was discussion leader of Bible Study Fellowship for several years. She also was a volunteer for the Parma Senior Center for numerous years. Her hobbies included painting, crocheting, sewing, reading, and camping. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Arthur, her parents, five sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her children Linda Waner of Caldwell, Bill of Parma, Steve [Lois] of Caldwell, and Mike [Georgia] of Ontario, Oregon, 9 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the staff of Auburn Crest and Ashley Manor in Middleton for the care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to your favorite charity.
