Gertrude â€śTrudyâ€ť Herda, 95, of Caldwell, passed away at a Caldwell hospital on Thursday, May 17, 2012. She attended and graduated schools in Marysville, Kansas. After graduation she went to work for the Bell phone company as a switchboard operator. She married Emery Herda in 1941 and together they were blessed with three children: Kent, Janet and James.
Gertrude was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 60 years and was a Daughter of the American Revolution. She enjoyed documenting genealogy and playing bridge.
Gertrude is survived by her son James Herda, two grandsons Kevin and Jason Carr, a granddaughter Brenda Lowe and two great-granddaughters Hanna and Mia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Emery, and two children Kent Herda and Janet Carr.
Gertrudeâ€™s Memorial Service will be held at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Inurnment will be held in Kansas. Condolences to the family may be made online at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com.
