  Rafaela Garcia Reyna September 27, 1927 ~ March 16, 2018 (age 90) Our Beloved Mother(Madre), Grandmother(Abuela), Great-grandmother(Bisabuela), and Friend(Amiga)was born on September 27, 1927 in Los Aldamas, N.L., Mexico to Sostenes Garcia and Carlota Rangel. She was raised by her paternal Aunt Carmen(Mama Carmen) and Father as her Mother died at childbirth. Growing up in Dr. Coss, N.L. on the family ranch/farm and riding side saddle while tending to livestock. On October 2, 1949, she married Jose Trinidad Reyna, and shortly thereafter moved to the United States. They had a total of ten children and one stillborn. They migrated to many states finally settling in Wilder, Idaho in 1960. On September 7, 1970, she lost her husband in an auto accident. As a widow, she moved to Caldwell, ID and raised nine children all on her own. She was very strong and determined to be independent throughout her lifetime. She worked as an agricultural worker at JR Simplot Co. She volunteered for many years at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and the ECHO Volunteer Program. She loved family gatherings and celebrating life events at her home every moment. She took care of many of her grandchildren and even had the pleasure of taking care of one great grandchild, which she loved each and every one of them dearly. The name “Wela” short for Abuela is an endearment name that her grandchildren/great-grandchildren who cherish her with a passion. Thus, if you hear her Grandchildren/great-grandchildren say; “Mi Wela,” it has a very special meaning and defined as “My Grandma.” She is survived by her children: Guadalupe (Ida) Reyna; Faustina (Espiridion) Cuevas; Estela Reyna; Jose Reyna; Santiago (Lydia) Reyna; Carmela (Mike) Ramirez; Jesse (Eli) Reyna. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents/Aunt; two Sisters and a Brother; Son: Santiago(1st); Daughter: Maria del Jesus; Son Guillermo(Memo); Granddaughter: Rose Marie Reyna(Muñeca) and Daughter: Carlota Stevens. A service to honor her life & meet with family will be held on Monday March 19, 2018 from 5-8 pm; followed by a Holy Rosary at 7 pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel. Holy mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley, followed by interment at Canyon Hill Cemetery. Condolences can be given at
