Lila M Drumheller age 93 of Boise formerly of Nampa passed away on March 15, 2018 at her request no services will be held cremation is under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Home, Caldwell Idaho.
Lila was born May 1st 1924 on the family farm near Irving, Kansas. She was the seventh of eight children born to Frederick Carl and Mary J (Wagener) Blaske. She was reared and educated in Kansas and Missouri.
During WWII Lila worked at North American Aviation as Riveter on the B-25 Mitchell bombers, she became a member of the Rose Monroe Society, known as “Rosie the Riveters.”
In 1946 Lila graduated from Templeman’s School of Cosmetology in Kansas City, Missouri, she worked in the Hotel President Beauty Salon before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1951 she met Bill Drumheller they were later married on January 1st 1953 they recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary! Bill and Lila moved to Farmington, New Mexico in 1966 and lived there until 1985 when Bill retired and they moved to Nampa Idaho. During her time in Farmington Lila was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and served on several boards within the community, she was an avid golfer and was a member of the San Juan Women’s Golf Association. One of her favorite associations was the Benevolent Patriotic Order of D.O.E.S. of U.S.A., she held many positions when in the D.O.E.S. she was excited to attend their national convention in West Palm Beach, Florida the year she became a Grand Lodge member.
Some of Lila’s hobbies included crossword and jigsaw puzzles, she loved to crochet and made beautiful afghan’s in “Navajo and Broken Arrow” stitch, Lila loved to paint and their home was decorated with several of her original oil paintings and saw blades. Lila loved to spend time outdoors enjoying her flower gardens and watching the many birds that would visit her favorite birds were the yellow finch, humming birds and baby quail that would visit in her yard. While living at Silvercrest in Nampa she enjoyed working on social events for her community and time as Red Hat Society Gal.
Lila is survived by her husband Bill of Boise, nieces Renee Billman (Bob) of St. Louis Mo, Mary Crumb and Margaret Fleagle (Don), of Hiawatha, Kansas, nephews, John Blaske, of Hiawatha, Kansas and Raymond E. Blaske Jr. (Donna), of St. Louis, Mo, Godson Paul David Turek of Florida many great and great grand nieces, nephews in Kansas and Missouri. Her longtime friends Helen Dotson and Joyce Prettyman of Las Vegas, NV, Eunice Howard of Sun City, Az. Bill and Lila were not blessed with children.
Lila was precede in death by her parents Frederick and Mary Josephine Blaske, three brothers Elmer, Walter and Raymond three sisters Elva, Winnie and Lucy, three brother in laws John, Vess and Melvin and two sister in laws Margaret and Betty, one nephew, Paul Blaske.
Memorial may be given to Salvation Army or Pet Haven Nampa in memory of Lila Drumheller.
