LaNae Dawn Hammon, 70, of Jordan Valley, OR was born to A. M. Hammon Jr. and Doris Adele Butterfield Hammon on January 16, 1947 in Nyssa, OR. She passed away July 29, 2017 at Ashley Manor in Caldwell, ID of natural causes.

  Her school years were spent at Adrian School District, grades one through ten. She then transferred to the Nyssa School District and graduated from Nyssa High School in 1965, and graduating two years later from TVCC, in Ontario, OR.

  In 2007, she retired from the work force at age 60. Her working years included: working at Sky Line Farms, Palmer Equipment, Nyssa Sugar Beet Factory, Adrian School District, and lastly the Riverside Casino, Laughlin, NV, for 18 years as a Slot Shift Supervisor.

  She lived numerous years in Bull Head City and Kingman, AZ, then moving to Nyssa, OR in 2010, then living in Jordan Valley, OR with her niece Debra Martin, who had become LaNae’s legal guardian. From there she resided for a time at Owyhee Health and Rehab, Homedale, ID and lastly for a very short time at Ashley Manor, Caldwell, ID where she passed away.

  During her lifetime she was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Nyssa, OR. She was a knitter, crocheted, quilter, and TOLE Painter. She loved throwing darts competitively, bowling, horses, dogs and western music. The disease that took her life was devastating. Those of us close and friendly to her will miss her very much. She is preceded in death by her parents, a Brother Bobby Hammon, Sisters: Betty Russell, Nancy Drue Bowers and Suzanne Carpenter. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, one brother-in-law, Marvin Bowers of Jordan Valley, OR her sister, Adele Dorkter of Adrian, OR and a family friend Reba Fisher of Homedale, ID. Also, a very special loving and kind niece, Debra Martin of Jordan Valley, OR who was faithful to her childhood promise of taking care of her Aunt LaNae after she got older, Many Thanks of Appreciation.  LaNae’s Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at 10:00 AM. at Hilltop Cemetery, 690 Hilltop RD, Nyssa, OR. Services are under the care of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale.
