Jewell Ledbetter, 88 years old, was taken to walk with God on March 3, 2018 at a Boise Care Center of natural causes.
Jewell was the fourth of six children. She was born in a log cabin on April 11, 1929 to John Wesley and Clearcy Johnson of Willow Springs, Missouri. Her family moved to the Wilder, ID area and in 1948 she met and married her husband, Edward Ledbetter. Jewell and Ed had three children, Jerry, Connie and Eddie. Jewell’s family moved around a bit and after the birth of Eddie they settled down in the Fruitland and Payette area.
Jewell was a kind hearted wife and mother that loved her family unconditionally. Jewell read the bible every night, raised her children properly and was one of the best cooks ever. She could whip up coleslaw that made you beg for more. Her favorite hobby was working in her rose garden.
Jewell is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Ledbetter and her son, Edward (Eddie) Dale Ledbetter.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Lee Ledbetter; daughter, Connie Elaine Haupt; granddaughters, Lisa Permann, Joey Kuwada and Lori Crowley and grandson, Mathew Ledbetter as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
A Funeral will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. Viewing will take place one hour prior to services at 10:00 AM.
