Jacquelyn “Jackie” Annette Broten 78, passed away June 7, 2017 in her home in Kuna, Idaho.
A memorial service will be held at Flahiff Funeral Home in Caldwell, Idaho on Tuesday, June 13th at 11 am.
Jackie was born to James and Annette Lacy in Missouri February 12, 1939. She lost her mother to breast cancer at a very young age. James Lacy then married Mae Lacy. She had fond memories of growing up with her three siblings in Western Washington and spoke often of the orchard she lived around. She graduated from Lake Stevens High School.
Jackie was proud of being a nurse. She retired from the VA hospital in Boise where she has worked as a surgical nurse and capably ran the Women’s Clinic.
Jackie’s interests were reading and gardening. Even in the last weeks of her life she was concerned about her garden.
All who knew Jackie loved her. She was a tremendous co-worker, neighbor, friend, wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Clarence Broten, daughter Peggy McKee, daughter Mary Kay McKee, granddaughter Teresa Schulte and two siblings John Lacy and Barbara Pearson. She is survived by 5 of her daughters: Sue Wiederich (Terry) , Gail Schneider (Ron), Dawn Hollingsworth (Chuck), Sandy Gibbs (Darren) and Betsy Diane Legg (Mark). Her surviving sibling is Steven Lacy. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. She has many nieces, nephews and in-laws that are very dear to her.
