Elizabeth (Betty) was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts to Adam and Mary Russell.
Betty’s father was in the Army and his career took him to several locations. She spent several years living in the Philippines as a young child. In 1939, Betty attended and graduated high school in San Francisco, California.
After graduating high school Betty moved to Chicago where she worked for Bell Telephone and later working for the U.S. Employment Office.
In 1944, she had a daughter named Pamela and after having her daughter she moved back to the San Francisco area where she met Loydd and married on August 2nd, 1946.
Together they lived in North Dakota, South Dakota, and then moved to Weiser, Idaho where Loydd’s parents lived. Settling in Caldwell, Idaho Loydd and Betty were involved in Odd Fellows and Rebecca’s, Grange, played pinochle with several friends, and enjoyed square dancing in their younger years.
In 1962, she attended nursing school in Weiser, Idaho and received her LPN license. She worked at Saint Alphonsus Hospital and State Hospital both in Nampa until her husband Loydd was in a farming accident in 1973.
She was preceded in death by her husband Loydd (2007), her mother and father, and her sister Ethel Patterson.
She is survived by her daughter Pamela Stewart (Boise), brother Bill Russell (Arizona), five grandchildren, Janie (Mike) Pryor of Nampa, John (Brendi) deBoer of Pasco Washington, Paul (Kim) Cole of Cabet Arkansas, Kelly (Danial) Penner of Caldwell, and Torie (Tom) Sullivan of Middleton.
Betty has 16 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
