Bill E. AndersonDecember 28, 1930 ~ November 18, 2017 (age 86)
Bill E. Anderson passed away at home November 18, 2017, with his faithful and loving (dog) LuLu by his side.
Bill was born in McGrew, NE on December 28, 1930 to William R. and Amanda J. (Long) Anderson. They moved to Caldwell in 1945 where he attended Marsing High School. In 1946, his parents moved to Anderson Corner in Parma and he graduated from Parma High School in 1948. He married Dorothy Jean Loewen that summer and they celebrated 57 years together. After following the construction trade throughout the Northwest, they came home to Idaho and Dad purchased Anderson Corner with his brother Clay. In 1963, they moved to Middleton purchasing and operating Andy’s Market for several years ~ Mom running the store and Dad working as Masonry Foreman for Opp Construction when the first Middleton High School was built. They purchased the Pastime Tavern and Jessie’s Drug Store in 1967 (home of Middleton City Hall, for some of you locals). They built, owned and operated the Branding Iron Beverage and Sporting Goods until 1979 and this building is the current Middleton City Hall and Police Station. Dad and Mom built, owned and operated the Chapparal Tavern from 1979-1993 when they retired. Dad and Mom had a cabin in Round Valley that they purchased with Bill & Judi Cronk. They had friends and family come to stay and party on Memorial & Labor Day weekends. Dad loved to entertain and everyone called him “Dad”. He was a very giving man who would not hesitate to help someone in need. He will be truly missed. Dad loved having friends over to his patio “Anderson Corner” when he could no longer go to his Friday night get-togethers at the Corral.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Jean; his parents; and five older brothers: Howard, Stephen Clay, James Wade, Donald Eugene and William K. He is survived by his sons: Mike Anderson (Becky) of Caldwell, Rod Anderson (Lila) of Albany, OR; three grandchildren: Heather Grubaugh (Charlie), Kam Anderson and Kort Anderson; and three great-grandchildren: Dylan Grubaugh, Miko Grubaugh and Sophia Dorothy Jean Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 624 Cleveland Blvd., Caldwell with burial following at the Middleton Cemetery.
A very special thanks to the Heart and Health Hospice team (Dr. Leavitt and Lauri Corell) who took such good care of Dad. Your heartfelt support and care was greatly appreciated by the family.
