Ada Marie (Brown) Fink, 84, of Caldwell, peacefully ascended to Heaven in her sleep on Sunday, March 25, 2018 with her daughter, Shirley; granddaughter, Jennifer (Steve) Alpaugh at her side. She was born on March 14, 1934 in Grand Island, NE to Homer and Buelah Brown.
Ada married Robert Ogden in 1949 after moving to Barstow, CA and to this union, her daughter, Kathy was born. She and Robert later divorced and she moved with Kathy to Caldwell, ID, working at Leddy’s Café and then taking a job with JR Simplot in 1957. She met and married Paul Fink on April 11, 1959 and a second daughter, Shirley, was welcomed to the family.
Ada retired from Simplot in 1997 and became a volunteer for the foster grandparent program where she nurtured children attending Van Buren Elementary in Caldwell and later volunteered for Health and Welfare doing the same thing. She had a passion for children and she adored working with them until she no longer could, due to health issues. Her hobbies included gardening and traveling with her granddaughter, Jennifer, to California in the summer time to visit her family. She enjoyed listening to music and Conway Twitty was her favorite.
Ada is survived by her two daughters, Kathy (Ron) Blickenstaff and Shirley McCreary; 6 grandchildren: Jennifer (Steve) Alpaugh, Cynthia Loosli, Elisha (Issac) Wilkerson, Brenda (Vernon) McDonald, Jeremy (Mindy) Shewmaker and Kristine Shewmaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert Ogden and Paul Fink and her brothers, George Jensen, David Brown and James Jensen.
Ada’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell at 2:00 PM with viewing one hour prior to service at 1:00 PM.
